1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing or using FinJounal ("the Platform"), available at finjounal.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, you may not use the Platform.
2. Description of Service
FinJounal provides portfolio tracking, trade journaling, market data aggregation, and analytics tools for investors and traders. The Platform aggregates publicly available market data from the Dar es Salaam Stock Exchange (DSE), Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE), Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE), Uganda Securities Exchange (USE), and the New York Stock Exchange (NYSE).
3. Not Financial Advice
FinJounal is a tracking and journaling tool only. Nothing on this Platform constitutes financial advice, investment advice, trading advice, or any other sort of advice. You should not treat any of the Platform's content as such. FinJounal does not recommend that any securities be bought, sold, or held by you. Do conduct your own due diligence and consult a licensed financial advisor before making any investment decisions.
4. User Accounts
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account. You agree to provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration and to update such information to keep it accurate.
5. Market Data Disclaimer
Market data provided on the Platform is sourced from third-party providers and publicly available exchange APIs. African exchange data is end-of-day and may be delayed. US market data is subject to standard market delays. FinJounal makes no warranties regarding the accuracy, completeness, or timeliness of market data. Data is provided "as is" for informational purposes only.
6. Acceptable Use
You agree not to: (a) use the Platform for any unlawful purpose; (b) attempt to gain unauthorized access to any systems or networks; (c) scrape, crawl, or harvest data from the Platform; (d) impersonate any person or entity; (e) interfere with the proper working of the Platform.
7. Intellectual Property
The Platform and its original content, features, and functionality are owned by FinJounal and are protected by international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. Your trade data, journal entries, and portfolio information remain your property.
8. Limitation of Liability
In no event shall FinJounal, its directors, employees, or agents be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including loss of profits, data, or other intangible losses, resulting from your use of or inability to use the Platform, any trading decisions made based on Platform data, or unauthorized access to your account.
9. Termination
We may terminate or suspend your account at any time, without prior notice, for conduct that we believe violates these Terms or is harmful to other users of the Platform, us, or third parties, or for any other reason at our sole discretion.
10. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to modify or replace these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of material changes by posting the new Terms on this page. Your continued use of the Platform after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
